This intensive 2-day advanced cadaveric course is designed for experienced Implant Dentists seeking to refine and expand their expertise in complex hard and soft tissue reconstruction. The programme focuses on advanced horizontal and vertical bone augmentation techniques, essential for implant placement in severely compromised sites, combined with sophisticated soft tissue management strategies to ensure long-term implant stability and success.

The course integrates evidence-based theory with a comprehensive hands-on workshop on fresh frozen human cadavers, allowing delegates to translate knowledge into predictable clinical outcomes. Teaching is delivered by Dr Nikolas Vourakis, who will guide participants through diagnosis, treatment planning, surgical execution, and complication management in advanced grafting cases.

Course Overview

The aim of this course is to enable experienced clinicians to confidently plan and execute advanced bone and soft tissue grafting procedures in severely atrophic jaws, using biologically sound and clinically predictable techniques.
By the end of the course, delegates will:
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of advanced horizontal and vertical bone augmentation concepts
• Gain in-depth knowledge of the Sausage Technique™, block grafting, and combined grafting approaches
• Learn to select and apply autologous and alternative bone grafting materials based on defect morphology and biological principles
• Enhance surgical proficiency through hands-on cadaveric dissection and grafting exercises
• Advance skills in soft tissue augmentation and wound closure to support long-term graft and implant success

• Identify, respect, and preserve critical anatomical structures in advanced augmentation sites
• Diagnose and manage complex vertical and horizontal bone defects of the jaws

• Execute vertical augmentation procedures and achieve stable, tension-free soft tissue closure
• Apply biological principles to select appropriate grafting materials and membranes
• Recognise contraindications and effectively manage intra-operative and post-operative complications
